Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Pre-launch version. Bracarys LLC (d/b/a RideAheadNYC) is being formed and its New York City TLC livery base license is in process. This policy will be reviewed by an attorney before rides become available in the App.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Bracarys LLC, doing business as RideAheadNYC ("RideAheadNYC," "we," "us" or "our"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you use the RideAheadNYC rider app, the RideAheadNYC driver app (together, the "Apps") and the website at rideaheadnyc.com (the "Website"). It applies to riders, drivers and driver applicants, and Website visitors.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising from other companies.

2. Information we collect from riders

Account information: your name, email address, mobile phone number (verified by text message), profile photo if you add one, preferred language, and your Google account name and email if you sign in with Google.

Location: your device's precise location while you use the rider app to request or follow a ride, if you allow it. The rider app does not collect your location in the background.

Trip information: pickup and destination addresses, ride type, the prices offered and accepted, route, date and time, the driver assigned, and the outcome of the trip (completed, cancelled or no-show).

Saved places and favorites: addresses you save (such as home or work) and drivers you mark as favorites.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive the card brand and the last four digits so you can recognize your card, but we never see or store your full card number. We also keep records of your charges, refunds, tips and Ride$ purchases, rewards and spending.

Rewards and referrals: your rider level, challenge progress, referral code, who referred you and who you referred, and promo codes you redeemed.

Communications and reports: messages you exchange with your driver in the in-app chat, ratings and reviews, safety reports, lost item reports and messages you send to support.

Device information: device type, operating system, app version and a push notification token, so we can send you notifications.

3. Information we collect from drivers and driver applicants

Application and identity: name, email, phone number, date of birth, home address, profile photo and preferred language.

Licenses and documents: driver's license, TLC driver license, vehicle registration, insurance information and the photos of those documents you upload. We use an automated text recognition service (Google Cloud Vision) to read expiration dates from document photos, and a person reviews every application.

Vehicle information: make, model, year, color, plate number and the ride types your vehicle can serve.

Location: your device's precise location while you are online in the driver app, including when the app is in the background, so we can match you with nearby ride requests, show your position to your rider during a trip and confirm pickups and drop-offs. We do not collect your location while you are offline.

Trips, earnings and payouts: the trips you accept, offers and counteroffers you send, earnings, tips, and ratings and reviews from riders.

Payout and tax information: driver payouts are made through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects your legal name, date of birth, address, Social Security or tax identification number and bank account directly, to verify your identity, pay you and issue your tax forms. We do not see your full Social Security number or full bank account number. From Stripe we receive your payout account status, the last four digits of your bank account, and records of your transfers, payouts and tax forms. Stripe's use of this information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy).

Communications and reports: in-app chat messages, safety and bug reports, lost item reports and messages to support.

4. Information we collect on the Website

If you subscribe to our updates, we collect your email address. If you use the support form, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional) and message.

We store your language choice in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) so the Website opens in that language next time. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We use an error monitoring service (Sentry) that collects technical information when something fails on the Website or our servers, such as the browser type, the page and the error.

5. How we use information

To provide the Services: create and verify accounts, match riders with nearby drivers, calculate prices, process payments, refunds and tips, show live trip progress, and send receipts and trip notifications.

To keep people safe and prevent fraud: verify drivers' licenses and documents, investigate safety reports and disputes, detect fraudulent accounts, payments and rewards, and enforce our Terms of Service.

To run rewards programs: track rider levels, challenges, referrals, promo codes and Ride$ balances.

To support you: answer support requests and help return lost items.

To communicate with you: send service messages and, if you agreed to receive them, promotions and news. You can opt out of marketing at any time.

To improve the Services: understand how the Apps are used, fix errors and develop new features.

To comply with the law: keep the trip and driver records that the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) requires from licensed bases, meet tax and accounting obligations, and respond to valid legal requests.

6. Who we share information with

Between riders and drivers. When a ride is confirmed, your driver sees your name, profile photo, pickup and destination, and can contact you through the App. You see your driver's name, photo, rating, vehicle and plate, and the driver's live location until the ride ends. Riders and drivers do not see each other's payment information.

Service providers that work on our behalf, only as needed for their job: Stripe (payments, driver payouts and tax forms), Google (maps, routes, address search, Google Sign-In and document text recognition), Firebase by Google (phone number verification and app integrity checks), Supabase (database and file storage), Netlify (website and server hosting), Resend (email delivery), Expo, Apple and Google (push notifications) and Sentry (error monitoring).

Regulators and authorities: the TLC and other government agencies when the law requires it, and law enforcement in response to a valid subpoena, court order or other legal process. In an emergency where someone's safety is at risk, we may share information with emergency services.

Insurers and claims: insurance companies and claims administrators involved in an incident, accident or claim related to a ride.

Business transfers: a buyer or successor if RideAheadNYC is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

With your consent: anyone else you ask us to share information with.

7. How long we keep information

We keep account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, including your saved places, favorites, payment methods and push tokens. We keep the trip and payment records we are required to keep by the TLC, tax and accounting laws, or for safety, fraud prevention and legal claims, for as long as those obligations require, and in a form that is no longer linked to your profile where possible.

Driver applications that are not approved are kept only as long as needed to process the application and meet legal obligations.

8. Your choices and rights

Access and correction: you can see and update most of your account information in the App. You can ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it by writing to [email protected].

Deletion: you can delete your account from the App or at rideaheadnyc.com/delete-account/passenger (riders) or rideaheadnyc.com/delete-account/driver (drivers). Some records are kept as described in Section 7.

Location: you can turn off location access in your device settings. The Apps need location to request or give rides.

Notifications and marketing: you can turn off push notifications in your device settings, unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in the email, and stop marketing text messages by replying STOP.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these choices. We respond to requests within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

9. Security

We protect personal information with technical and organizational measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and payment processing by a PCI-compliant provider. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by New York law.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will tell you through the App or by email before it takes effect, and we will update the date at the top of this page.
